Obverse description Quartered shield of arms of the County of Mansfeld, the upper left and lower right quarters bearing horizontal barry stripes, the upper right quarter displaying a displayed eagle, and the lower left quarter a rampant lion; the shield is flanked by the mint master's initials and surmounted by the last two digits of the regnal year. A beaded border encircles the entire design. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered coinage of the period.
