Obverse description Four heraldic shields arranged within a lozenge (rhombus) border. At the top, the arms of the city of Salzburg featuring a lion rampant; at the lower left and lower right, the personal arms of Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau flanking a central shield bearing a sphere, the emblem of Salzburg. The monogram W T (for Wolfgang Theodoricus) appears in the lower field below the shields. The coin is undated and struck in a typically irregular hammered style.
