Reverse description Central field displays two crossed keys in saltire, the heraldic symbol of the city of Riga, positioned within a small inner circle or beaded ring. The keys are depicted with their bows facing outward and downward, a common arrangement on Riga municipal coinage of the period. Surrounding this central device is the circular Latin legend MON · NOVA · RIGE ·, abbreviating Moneta Nova Rigensis (New Coin of Riga), separated by star or pellet stops. The design is executed in the plain, functional style typical of small hammered billon issues of the Livonian Order.
