Obverse description A pointed shield bearing the dimidiated arms of Mainz (the six-spoked wheel of Mainz in base) and Bavaria (the lozengy field in chief), surmounted by the Gothic letters 'TR' as the archbishop's initial monogram, all within a beaded border. The shield is rendered in a late Gothic heraldic style typical of mid-fifteenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The overall composition is centrally placed within the coin's field, with no surrounding legend.
