Obverse description Facing bust of the ruler depicted in a schematic, stylized manner, flanked by the letters R and A in the upper field, the effigy set atop a crenellated wall rendered in bold relief. The design is executed in the crude but characteristic hammered style of medieval Bavarian bracteate-influenced pfennigs. The bust features a crown-like headdress ornamented with pellets, with the shoulders and neck indicated by geometric forms. The overall composition is tightly contained within the irregular flan.
