Reverse description The reverse, characteristic of a bracteate or thin hammered pfennig, displays a central frontal bishop's head wearing a mitre, rendered in low relief in a schematic Romanesque manner. The head is enclosed within a horseshoe-shaped or arched frame, surrounded by a ring of pellets arranged in a circular pattern around the central motif. The field beyond the pellet ring is plain, bounded by a raised outer rim. The design is incuse relative to the obverse, as expected for a coin of this thin, uniface or near-uniface type, with no legible inscription present.
