Reverse description The large numeral '1' dominates the central field, flanked symmetrically on each side by a drooping rye ear (Secale cereale), their awns extending upward toward the rim. The denomination legend PFENNIG is inscribed below the central numeral, completing the value inscription. The mint mark F appears at the top of the field above the numeral. The overall composition is simple and heraldic in character, consistent with the standard circulation design of the West German Pfennig series.
