| Obverse description | The Carinthian shield displayed within a lozenge (rhombus) frame, divided per pale: the dexter half bearing a horizontal hatched pattern representing the traditional Carinthian field, and the sinister half depicting a rampant lion. A four-digit date appears above the shield in the upper field. The coin exhibits the characteristically irregular flan and crude strike typical of hammered pfennig coinage of the early sixteenth century. |
