Reverse description The Wittelsbach dynastic shield, bearing the characteristic lozengy (bendy-sinister) arms of Bavaria in a chequerboard pattern of diamond shapes, is displayed within a plain inner circle. The escutcheon is rendered in a simple heraldic style with no additional supporters or ornamentation, occupying the majority of the reverse field. The rough, irregular square flan edges are characteristic of hammered production of this denomination and period.
