Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of the Kingdom of Bavaria is displayed centrally, featuring the quartered shield with the characteristic Bavarian lozenges and the lion of the Palatinate, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked on both sides by oak branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, their naturalistic foliage extending upward to frame the crown. The composition is set within a beaded border, the design executed in high relief characteristic of a presentation pattern strike.
