Obverse description A fleur-de-lis (lily) occupies the central field, rendered in bold relief in the characteristic late medieval style, with a small angled heraldic shield bearing the arms of Baden positioned below the lily and tilted to the right. A continuous border of evenly spaced pellets encircles the central design, contained within a raised rim. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, typical of hammered billon pfennigs of the period. No legend is present.
