Obverse description Central field displays a bold fleur-de-lis (lily), the heraldic emblem of the city of Strasbourg, rendered in high relief with characteristic trifoliate petals and scrolled lower lobes. Beneath the lily, the mintmaster's initial 'H' appears between two pellets, serving as a mint control mark. The design is enclosed within a plain inner border surrounded by a prominent outer beaded (pearled) border running the full circumference of the flan. The overall style is typical of late 16th- to early 17th-century German municipal billon coinage, with a compact, centrally-focused heraldic composition characteristic of hammered small denomination pieces.
