Obverse description A fleur-de-lis (lily) in high relief centered within a beaded border composed of twelve pellets arranged in a circle. The fleur-de-lis displays the characteristic trilobed upper portion and foliated base typical of 13th-century German bracteate-influenced coinage. The flan is irregular and roughly square in shape, consistent with hand-struck hammered production. The field surrounding the central motif is flat and unadorned. No inscription or legend is present.
