| Beschrijving voorzijde | A rampant lion facing left occupies the central field, rendered in a bold and stylized medieval manner characteristic of hammered bracteate-style pfennigs. The lion displays an open mouth, raised forepaw, and a pronounced curling tail, with fine detail in the mane and limbs visible despite the irregular flan. No surrounding legend is present, the design filling the broad, thin silver planchet to its edges. The overall style reflects the local episcopal workshop traditions of late 14th-century Bamberg. |

Lamprecht von Brunn held the see of Bamberg from 1374 until his death in 1399, a tenure marked by persistent conflict with the Burgraves of Nuremberg over territorial rights in Franconia. Small silver pfennig issues of this type circulated almost exclusively within the bishop's immediate lands — the denomination was too minor and too regionally struck to travel far.
