Obverse description Central field displays the Austrian shield — a fess (horizontal bar) over a hatched or striated lower half — surmounted by a royal crown, all rendered in the crude, flat relief characteristic of early sixteenth-century hammered coinage. The date, rendered in Gothic numerals, appears in the upper field above the crowned shield. The overall style reflects the provincial Vienna Mint workmanship of the early Habsburg period under Karl V and Ferdinand I.

Reverse description Central design features two crossed sceptres or batons arranged diagonally in saltire, surmounted by a prominent royal crown in the upper field. A small heraldic element or mint mark appears to the left of the saltire. The design is struck on an irregularly shaped flan with flat, worn relief typical of hammered Pfennig coinage of the early sixteenth century. The field is otherwise plain, with no surrounding legend.
