Obverse description Rampant lion passant to left within a plain inner circle, the whole surrounded by a broad border of raised pellets arranged around the circumference of the flan. The design is rendered in low relief typical of late 17th-century hammered billon pfennig coinage of the German states. No legend present; the field is plain save for the heraldic lion motif, which represents the arms of the County of Solms-Hohensolms.

Reverse description Plain field within a dotted inner circle, itself enclosed by a border of raised pellets mirroring the obverse arrangement. A faint curved line or crescent-like device is discernible in the central field, consistent with the incuse impression of the obverse die on this thin hammered billon flan. No legend or additional devices are present.
