Obverse description A bishop's mitre depicted in the centre of the field, with the date 1621 divided to either side: '16' to the left and '21' to the right. A small cross ornament appears above the mitre and a second cross ornament below, each flanked by pellets. The entire design is enclosed within a rope or cable border. The composition is characteristic of early 17th-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
