| 背面描述 | The reverse of this small hammered Pfennig appears uniface or bears only a plain, featureless field, as is typical for minor silver coinage of the Leuchtenberg Landgraviate of this period. The surface shows the natural texture of the hammered planchet with no discernible design elements, legends, or devices, consistent with the one-sided striking tradition of such diminutive issues. |

The Landgraviate of Leuchtenberg was a small imperial territory in the Upper Palatinate whose ruling family had been in steady political decline since the fourteenth century, steadily selling off lands to the Wittelsbachs to service debts. John IV, who held the title from roughly 1487 to 1531, was among the last Landgraves to exercise meaningful independent coinage rights. Issues from his reign are thin on the ground precisely because the territory's minting activity was intermittent and the economic base too narrow to sustain it.
