| Obverse description | Central device consisting of a quartered shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms — divided per fess and per pale, displaying the characteristic black-and-white (sable and argent) quarterly design of the Burgrave of Nuremberg. The shield is rendered in low relief in a plain, unadorned field typical of hammered bracteate-style pfennigs of the early fifteenth century. No surrounding legend is present on this side, consistent with the minimalist die work of small-denomination coinage of this period. |
