The arms are surrounded by decorative mantling or foliate ornament. A mintmaster's initial or mint mark appears in the lower field below the shield. The design is rendered in the hammered style typical of early 17th-century Saxon Pfennig coinage, with a plain beaded border encircling the entire composition. |
