| 裏面の説明 | The denomination '1 PFENNIG' is inscribed in two lines across the center of the field, with the mint mark 'S·M' (Schlag Mainz) below, followed by the date on the bottom line. The reverse is unadorned save for a beaded border encircling the entire design, giving the piece a clean, legible appearance typical of minor copper coinage of the period. |

John Frederick Charles of Ostein served as Archbishop-Elector of Mainz from 1743 until his death in 1763, presiding over the electorate through the catastrophic disruptions of the Seven Years' War. Mainz itself changed hands between French and Imperial forces during this period, and routine small-denomination copper coinage production was repeatedly disrupted. The 1759–1760 date range on this piece almost certainly reflects that instability — a two-year striking window for a single pfennig type suggests interrupted production rather than a deliberate extended issue.
