Obverse description Within a raised inner circle of lines, the Landshut helmet depicted in high relief, shown in three-quarter view with a prominent chin strap rendered in the Gothic style typical of late medieval Bavarian coinage. The helmet device is centrally placed within the circular border, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The surrounding flat field and irregular flan are characteristic of hammered bracteate-style pfennigs of the period. No legend or inscription is present.
