Reverse description The reverse is unprinted save for a large central guilloche rosette of elaborate lathe-work design, rendered in pale brown on the plain beige paper ground. Four circular cartouches, one at each corner, each carry the denomination numeral '1' as countercheck values against the central ornament. The overall composition is purely typographic-ornamental with no pictorial vignette.
