| Obverse description | A central cross divides the field into four quadrants, each containing one digit of the date 1-5-6-1 arranged around the cross arms. Superimposed at the center of the cross is the heraldic shield of Gotthard Kettler, the last Master of the Livonian Order, depicted in a simple gothic style characteristic of small hammered billon coinage. The numerals are rendered in a bold, slightly irregular fashion consistent with hand-engraved dies of the mid-sixteenth century. |

| Reverse description | Two crossed keys of St. Peter in saltire occupy the central field, their ornate bow ends pointing downward and their bits facing outward, symbolizing the ecclesiastical authority of the Archbishop of Riga. A small cross pattée is positioned above the point of intersection of the keys. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude style typical of small hammered billon issues of the Livonian region in the sixteenth century. |
