| Aanvullende informatie |
Glöthe is a small village in Saxony-Anhalt, and Saxonia AG was an agricultural processing enterprise — almost certainly a sugar beet refinery or similar concern, given the region's density of such operations in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Notgeld and factory token issues from rural agrarian firms like this one were typically struck to pay field laborers in scrip redeemable only at the company store, a practice that kept wages circulating internally. Zinc was the material of necessity, not preference.
