George Victor ruled Waldeck-Pyrmont from 1845 until the principality's military and administrative functions were progressively absorbed by Prussia — a process formalized in stages through the 1860s and 1870s. These small copper issues belong to the last decades before that absorption made independent coinage obsolete. The dual KM references reflect a documented compositional or die variation between the 1855 and post-1860 strikes, though the principality's tiny output means die studies remain incomplete compared to larger German states.
