Obverse description Central field dominated by the crowned arms of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by a small crown, rendered in low relief characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered copper coinage. The shield displays heraldic charges associated with the comital house of Sayn-Wittgenstein. The initials BH appear in the field flanking the shield, likely referencing the issuing authority or mint master. The strike is irregular and slightly off-center, consistent with hand-hammered production. Patina is dark green-brown with areas of copper showing through.
