| Beschrijving voorzijde | A rearing horse facing left occupies the central field, rendered in relief against a plain background. The horse is depicted in a dynamic, prancing pose characteristic of the Brunswick arms. A circular legend surrounds the design, reading GEORG.D.G.T.N.CAROLI D.BR.ET L.* F.R., referencing George IV as Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. The lettering is set close to the coin's rim, which features a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Brunswick's copper coinage of this period was administered under considerable political tension — the duchy had been reconstituted in 1813 after Napoleon dissolved it entirely, and the restored house of Welf was still rebuilding administrative infrastructure when this piece was struck. George IV issued it as Prince Regent; he would not formally ascend to the British throne until 1820, making his German territorial coinages from 1818 a brief window in which he held dual authority without yet holding the senior title in either.
