正面描述 The prancing horse of Brunswick rears to the left in the center of the field, rendered in bold relief — the dynastic symbol of the House of Welf. A mint mark 'F·B' appears below the horse in the exergue area. The surrounding circular legend reads GEORG. T.N. CAROLI D.BR.ET.L, referencing George IV as successor to Charles, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, with beaded border encircling the entire design.

附加信息

Brunswick's coinage during George IV's tenure as Duke reflected the awkward dual authority he held — simultaneously Prince Regent (then King) of Great Britain and titular Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel through dynastic inheritance. The duchy's small copper issues of this period were struck at the Clausthal mint, which had operated intermittently since the sixteenth century primarily to process silver from the Harz mountain mines.

Production ceased after 1820 as Brunswick rationalized its currency ahead of broader German monetary coordination efforts in the following decade.
