Obverse description The obverse bears a four-line inscribed legend filling the entire field, divided by a horizontal rule. The denomination numeral '1' appears at the top, followed by 'PF.BR.' on the second line, 'L.MVnZ' on the third, and the date '1695' on the fourth line, with the mintmaster initials 'L.C.S.' below. Small mullet or rosette stops punctuate the legend throughout, and the whole is enclosed within a finely toothed or beaded border. The design is entirely typographic, typical of the small billon pfennig coinage of Brandenburg-Prussia under Elector Frederick III.

Reverse description The reverse of this small billon pfennig is uninscribed and bears no design, presenting a plain, flat field consistent with the characteristic single-sided typographic style of Brandenburg-Prussian minor coinage of this period. The plain edge and uniform surface indicate the hammered production technique employed at the Berlin Mint in the late seventeenth century.
