Obverse description The Saxon royal arms — a quartered shield bearing the traditional rautenkranz barry — surmounted by a royal crown and flanked symmetrically by upward-curving palm branches, all rendered in crisp relief against a plain field. A continuous pearl border encircles the entire design, consistent on both sides of the coin. The composition is centrally placed with no legend or inscription on the obverse.
