Obverse description Displayed Hohenzollern eagle with spread wings occupying the central field, its head turned to the right and surmounted by a small crown. The date is divided across the upper field, with '17' to the left and '53' to the right of the eagle's crown. The mint initials 'CL' appear to the left and 'R' to the right at the base of the eagle. The coin is struck within a toothed border running along the entire periphery.
