| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the lozengy arms of the House of Wittelsbach (Bavaria), displayed within a plain border. The split date is arranged above the shield, with the mintmaster's letter 'C' interposed between the two halves of the year, reading '16-C-76' (or the respective year within the series). Small six-pointed stars flank the shield in the field to left and right. The overall style is characteristic of late 17th-century south German hammered pfennig coinage, with a slightly irregular flan and granular surface texture. |
