Descrizione del dritto Two heraldic shields arranged side by side beneath the date, enclosed within a lozenge (rhombus) border: the left shield bearing the Styrian panther and the right shield bearing the Austrian fess. The initial letter F, denoting Archduke Ferdinand I, appears below the shields in the lower field. The date is rendered in two numerals flanking the design, with the last two digits of the year inscribed within or adjacent to the lozenge frame.

Informazioni aggiuntive

Ferdinand I inherited control of the Austrian hereditary lands in 1521 following the division of Habsburg territories with his brother Charles V, and the Graz mint served as one of his principal striking facilities for small denomination coinage throughout his reign. The thirty-year span covered by this issue reflects the sheer administrative continuity of his rule — Ferdinand was simultaneously managing the Ottoman threat on his eastern frontier, including the siege of Vienna in 1529, while maintaining a functioning monetary system across fragmented territories. The multiple Schult references indicate recognized die or type variants within the series, not a single homogeneous issue.
