Ferdinand I inherited the Bohemian crown in 1526 following the death of Louis II at Mohács, and the Breslau mint was among the first Silesian institutions brought under Habsburg monetary authority. This pfennig is an early product of that administrative transition — struck within twelve months of Ferdinand's accession to the Bohemian throne. The FuS#2 reference places it among the foundational issues cataloged by Friedensburg and Seger for Silesian coinage.
