| Obverse description | The arms of Solms-Lich, comprising a quartered shield divided by a plain cross, occupy the central field of this small hammered pfennig. The shield displays the characteristic Solms heraldic charges within the quarters. Above the arms appears the abbreviated Latin legend denoting the comital title of the issuer. The entire design is set within an irregular, slightly convex flan typical of hand-struck coinage of the mid-to-late sixteenth century. The surrounding border, where visible, shows the characteristic rough edge of hammered minor coinage. |
