Ernest August II Constantine ruled Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach for just four years, from 1756 to 1758, dying at age twenty-six. His coinage output was correspondingly thin, and this pfennig falls squarely within the Seven Years' War, during which Thuringian territories suffered repeated troop movements, requisitions, and financial strain from both Prussian and Austrian forces passing through.
The two-year window for this issue makes date attribution worth examining closely on any example.
