To the left, the EDEKA corporate diamond-shaped logo vignette bears the initials 'EK' within a cogwheel device above the bold sans-serif inscription 'EDEKA'. To the right, the denomination '1 Pfg.' is set in large bold type beneath the heading 'Edeka-Gutschein / im Werte von', with the issuer's full name and two facsimile signatures of authorising officers printed below the redemption clause.

备注	EDEKA — Einkaufsgenossenschaft der Kolonialwaren-Einzelhändler — began as exactly this kind of regional purchasing cooperative, and Demmin's Vorpommerischer Einkaufsverein was among the early constituent groups that would eventually consolidate into the national retail giant still operating today. This 1 Pfennig note is cooperative scrip, not state currency: issued by a grocers' buying collective to manage small transactions internally, almost certainly during the coin shortage years of the early Weimar period. Printed locally by W. Grzellius rather than a specialist notgeld printer, the production values reflect that economy.
