| Beschrijving voorzijde | Two adjacent heraldic shields suspended from a looped hanger, the dexter shield bearing an eagle and the sinister shield displaying the quartered arms of Eppstein-Königstein. The two-digit date appears in the lower field beneath the shields. The design is executed in the crude, flat relief typical of small hammered coinage of the early sixteenth century. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The County of Königstein passed to the Eppstein family in the late fifteenth century and was absorbed by the County of Hanau following Eberhard IV's death without male heirs in 1535. This pfennig belongs to the final decade of independent Königstein coinage — a small territory issuing small silver in a period when territorial fragmentation across the Rhineland-Main region meant dozens of minor lords still exercised mint rights, however briefly.
