Reverse description A plain cross with four rosettes or quatrefoils, one placed in each quadrant formed by the arms of the cross, all contained within a circular border or ring. The cross design is boldly struck in high relief relative to the flat field, with each floral ornament exhibiting a central pellet surrounded by four rounded petals. This simple yet elegant geometric arrangement is typical of 13th-century Carinthian pfennig reverses, serving as a non-figurative counterpart to the portrait obverse.
