| 正面描述 | Central field dominated by the interlaced royal cypher 'AW' (for Augustus William) surmounted by a princely crown. The date is divided to either side of the monogram, with the mint master's initials 'HH' positioned in the lower field flanking the base of the cypher. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border, consistent with the small hammered coinage of the Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel principality. |

Augustus William ruled Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel from 1714 until his death in 1731, a reign marked by chronic fiscal strain and the principality's ongoing entanglement in the dynastic maneuvering of the House of Welf. Striking a silver Pfennig at 0.24 g pushed the limits of what the denomination could economically justify in silver — most German states had already abandoned silver for copper at this fractional level, making this issue an anomaly of conservative monetary policy rather than practical necessity.
