Obverse description Divided shield bearing the two-fold arms of Electoral and Ducal Saxony: the dexter half displaying the rampant lion of the Landgraviate of Thuringia with barry field, and the sinister half showing the crossed swords of the Electorate of Saxony with a trefoil arrangement of hearts. The mint-master's initials HB appear above the shield flanked by decorative scrollwork, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description A crowned imperial orb set within an ornate lobed or cusped cartouche frame, with the last two digits of the date divided on either side of the orb in the field. The orb displays the cross surmounting a globe bisected by a horizontal band, rendered in the style typical of late 16th-century Saxon coinage. The overall composition is enclosed within a beaded or rope border.
