Obverse description Central field features an elaborate interlaced royal cypher 'AF' (for Adolphus Frederick) rendered in ornate script with foliate flourishes, surmounted by a princely crown with arched bands and orb. The date 1752 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the cypher. The coin is struck on a plain field with a finely milled border encircling the entire design. No peripheral legend is present, the cypher and crown together forming the sole decorative and dynastic device.
