Obverse description Central field bears the crowned Nassau coat of arms depicting a lion rampant on a horizontally striped shield, supported on either side by a lion rampant guardant serving as heraldic supporters. The royal crown surmounts the shield at top center. The legend NASSAU arcs across the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals, while the inscription SCHEIDE- MÜNZE appears in two lines across the lower field, separated from the arms by a horizontal line. The entire design is framed by a toothed border running along the coin's inner rim.
