| Obverse description | Central field occupied by two crossed keys in saltire, the arms of the Free City of Regensburg, surmounted by a fleur-de-lis or ornamental finial at the apex. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century German municipal coinage. The date 1628 is inscribed in the upper field above the crossed keys. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border running along the inner rim. |
