| Obverse description | The arms of the Free City of Augsburg — a pine cone device on a shield — are displayed centrally within an elaborate Baroque cartouche composed of bold foliate and scrollwork ornaments. The shield is set upon a decorative base, with symmetrical acanthus-like volutes curling outward to either side and a florid crowning element above. No legend appears in the field. The coin's rim is defined by a fine beaded border. |
