Obverse description Central field features the letter 'R' — the initial of Ravensburg — displayed within a small circular medallion at the centre of a stylised Imperial double-headed eagle rendered in a flat, decorative manner. The eagle's two heads face outward to either side, with spread wings filling the upper field, and the tail feathers fanning downward toward the base. The entire design is contained within a raised circular border, with no surrounding legend. The treatment is characteristic of late 17th-century south German municipal hammered pfennig coinage.
