Obverse description The civic arms of Regensburg, consisting of two crossed keys with elaborate bow-shaped bows and trefoil terminals, occupies the central field. The initial 'R' for Regensburg appears above the arms, and the date 1622 is inscribed below in four digits. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, characteristic of the small hammered copper coinage of the period.
