Obverse description	Facing bearded bust of St. Paul within a beaded inner circle, rendered in a crude but expressive late medieval style. The apostle is depicted with long flowing beard and hair, his face shown frontally. The surrounding circular legend reads SANC. PAVLV - (S.) APOSTOL, separated by the inner beaded border. The coin is struck within a plain outer rim with a beaded border.

Reverse description	A bold numeral 'I' denoting the denomination of one Pfennig, centrally placed within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend BVRSA. DOMINORV. The coin reportedly bears a lily countermark associated with the year 1591.
