Obverse description Printed in dark brown and black intaglio over a salmon-orange guilloche underprint, the obverse centres on an oval portrait vignette of a man in left-facing profile executed in fine line engraving. Flanking vignettes show, at left, workers operating a loom or press and, at right, women carrying vessels near a ladder against a building. The bank title "EL BANCO DE AHUACHAPAM" and the promise text "PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR EN MONEDA EFECTIVA" run across the centre, with the denomination "DOS PESOS" appearing at lower left and right, signature lines for Gerente, Director, and Cajero at the base, and a red "SPECIMEN" overprint across the face.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red intaglio on white paper, the reverse is dominated by an intricate lathe-work guilloche field within which a central circular vignette contains the Salvadoran national coat of arms — a triangle enclosing a volcano flanked by two flags and the date inscription "8 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821". The bank title "BANCO DE AHUACHAPAM" arcs above the central device and "SALVADOR AMERICA CENTRAL" below it, while the numeral "2" appears in large ornamental form within elaborate rosette surrounds at both left and right.
